"Preparing All Students to Succeed"

Nicholas Olsen Qualifies for the State Geography Bee- Congratulations, Nick!!!
Nicholas Olsen, winner of the CMS Geography Bee and contestant in the State Geo Bee.

Nicholas Olsen, an 8th grade student at Cuthbertson Middle School, won our school Geography Bee in January. His score on the written test given in the preliminary round, held here at CMS, qualified him for the North Carolina State Geography Bee. The State Bee will be held on March 30, 2012. We wish Nicholas the best of luck as he prepares to compete in the N.C. State Bee!

The winner of the N.C. State Geography Bee will compete in the National Geographic Bee in Washington, D.C. May 22-24, 2012.

Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark student interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography. Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible for this entertaining and challenging test of geographic knowledge.
