General Information

Lisa Smith

Mrs. Smith

A North Carolina native, Lisa Smith grew up in Carthage, a small town near Pinehurst.  After completing her BA in psychology and Masters in counseling at Appalachian State University, she started working as a school counselor.  She and her husband, Michael, lived and worked in Union County in the early ‘90s, when she was a counselor at Piedmont Middle.  Subsequent moves took them to South Carolina and Kentucky, but they were very excited seven years ago when they had the opportunity to return to North Carolina.  This marks her 20th year as a school counselor.   When not at school, Mrs. Smith enjoys spending time with family at the beach, visiting Boone for hiking and Appalachian State football games, and watching her son, Colson, play baseball.
